About Kate

Meet Kate Ryan.

An advocate for inclusivity, championing every path to family.

Founder and guide

Creating a more expansive story of family.

Kate Ryan champions all paths to family — whether through medical assistance, adoption, foster care, surrogacy, or redefined connections. Her goal for Story of Us is a radical shift in how society sees family: not as a fixed structure, but as a boundless, beautiful, divine creation that reflects each person’s unique story.

A dedicated practitioner and educator, Kate is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher and the Meditation Lead for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chicago. She also guides corporate meditation and mindfulness sessions for providers, clinicians, and organizations across the United States.

As a Certified Sound Healer with a Master of Music from Berklee College of Music, Kate weaves voice, instruments, and mantra into her somatic sound healing.
